Their artwork will feature the following mediums: fibre art, acrylic, oil, encaustics, and pastels. Their focus is on nature either in the use of it in their artwork or what they reference for their creativity. View the depth of the two dimensional fibre art that brings animals and birds to life, the pastels are exquisite with fine detail and the encaustics bring a different element to the show."

Reception: Saturday August 12th from 11-2
In the artist words “My aim is to take boring production-line second-hand artwork and inject into them some visual interest. I try to instill a bit of humor into each piece, sometimes that humor is, well....a little left of center. But that’s okay. So am I.
Most are references to movies and pop-culture that impacted me in my youth, the characters may draw smiles of recognition to those with a fondness for old movies.
Marjorie is an accomplished artist that shows in my gallery on a regular basis. She is the one who transforms chicken to Ostrich eggs into creative images one of which is the story of the Velveteen Rabbit. Marjorie has shared her serious art with us in the images of Hildegard & Woman’s Work.

PRAIRIE STRUCTURED
Artist Receptions:
April 28th from 6:30-8:00
April 29th from 10:30 - 2:00
In “Prairie Structured” we wanted to explore the Saskatchewan landscape and culture, specifically its patterns and buildings from our personal perspectives. As we live and work the land, and build our homes and communities; the work, the land itself and the people around us are also shaping and developing us. These works of art aim to showcase our individual interpretation of the structures that encompass our prairie experience, so you will find that the works range in mediums and subject matter. As we look around, structure is everywhere. Being defined as: “having been constructed or arranged to a plan; giving a pattern or organization to, or something of many parts that is put together.” This then could be something that has been built, how people congregate, how persons dress, acquired words and phrases common to a certain place, the lay of the land, even a garden. All four of us feel that we are to be stewards of what is within our lives, caring for what is around us. This of course means that restraining, constraining and utilization are often just as important as nurturing.

The act of looking up at the vast expanse of sky over a broad and endless horizontal plain is a quintessential activity on the prairies and the inspiration for mixed media artist Bobbi Clackson-Walker’s new series of hand-coloured salt crystal monoprints STORIED SKIES.
“Looking at cloud formations can fuel the imagination and cause the eye to create whole worlds in the sky. Some cloud formations may appear as slow-moving animated fantasies or are reminiscent of a personally held memory while other formations can appear like a distant vista that entices you to travel toward them to take a closer look. Sky watching has always been an inspiring and pleasurable act of visual imagining for me and this series of hand-coloured salt crystal monoprints reveals my sensitivity to the dramas and the mysteries played out in a prairie sky.” - Bobbi Clackson-Walker
