"The Four Seasons" is a collection of four violin concerti orchestrated by the Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, each of which reveals a musical nuance to each season of the calendar year. The concerti were composed around 1721 and were published in Amsterdam in 1725. The concerti are the most recognizable of Vivaldi's compositions. Unconventional for the time period, Vivaldi published the concerti with accompanying poems, defining what characterizes each season his concerti is proposing to inspire. This presents one of the earliest and refined illustrations of what was to be defined as "program music", or, music with a narrative element.

The Artists of Scott Nicholson Fine Arts have created works that have encapsulated the musical nuances of Vivaldi's orchestration with strong lyrical artistic compositions that interpret the four seasons, the crispness of freshly fallen snow, the summer swaying of the hayfield in the prairie breeze, the vibrant palette of autumn, and the first vestige of spring in the arboreal forest. Each artist has merged the written word, music, and the artistic narrative into revealing concerti of the poetic experience of the arts.
