Communications Officer (Canada Summer Job)
30 hours per week | Desired start date: May 13 | View this position on SaskJobs.ca

SaskGalleries is seeking a creative and organized temporary Communications Officer, as part of the Canada Summer Jobs Grant program. Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful applicant will assist with communications, marketing and advertising, as well as administration for the upcoming 11thedition of the Art Now Fine Art Fair.

 This is a fast-paced role perfect for someone passionate about the Saskatchewan art scene, digital marketing, and event coordination.

General duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Social media: Develop plans, create professional content (reels/posts), and schedule via Canva/Instagram/Facebook.

  • Digital Content: Updating and uploading content for artnow.ca and saskgalleries.ca.

  • Event Admin: Coordinate with committees, exhibitors, and sponsors; organize promotional materials and assist with proofreading.

  • Other duties as required.

 Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Experience in social media management and email marketing.

  • Passion for the Saskatchewan arts scene and ability to work independently.

 SaskGalleries is a not-for-profit association representing established and emerging commercial art galleries within the province. Therefore, this position provides insight and experience in communications and marketing as well as event management within the fine art industry.

Coordinator (Marketing & Events)
20-25 hours per week | Desired start date: immediately | Hybrid position

SaskGalleries is seeking a versatile Coordinator to manage digital marketing and logistics for key upcoming projects, including Art Gallery Day and our Annual General Meeting. This role requires a creative self-starter who thrives on deadlines and multi-tasking.

General duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Digital Marketing: Create and deploy monthly Galleries360 and Shop The Galleries e-newsletters via Mailchimp.

  • Social Media: Execute organic campaigns for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Saskatchewan Day. Coordinate paid campaign assets (TikToks, web banners, social squares) with our agency partner.

  • Event Coordination: Manage gallery communications and materials for Art Gallery Day (June 6). Support the AGM (June 8) by confirming quorum, preparing presentations, and taking minutes.

  • Content & Administration: Upload feature gallery content to our web shop, manage office email inquiries/mail, and compile monthly analytics.

 Qualifications:

  • Software: Proficiency in Mailchimp, Canva, Microsoft Office, Squarespace, and Zoom.

  • Communications: Strong copywriting skills for blogs, media releases, and social ads. Short-form video (TikTok) experience is a plus.

  • Coordination: Proven ability to manage complex timelines and multiple stakeholders.

  • Arts Interest: Knowledge of the Saskatchewan arts community is an asset.
