SaskGalleries celebrates 3rd annual Art Gallery Day
On Saturday, June 10, 2023, SaskGalleries celebrated the third annual Saskatchewan Art Gallery Day along with sixteen member galleries from across the province. More than 800 people across the province took the opportunity to visit the galleries and take in special events – a testament to the importance of fine art in our province.
It was a beautiful day, perfect for an art walk and visiting the galleries both indoors and out. Our members welcomed many new faces, with attendees excited to enter the draw for a $500 gift certificate, and commenting on how wonderful the diversity of art and artists in Saskatchewan truly is.
There were opportunities to connect and meet with artists including inside the galleries, at opening receptions, and special set ups outside of the select galleries. Other events included artists talks and live demonstrations, and an in-person pop-up event from a regularly online only gallery. All the events contributed to an enriched sense of community within the province and beyond.
